The MMOB Daily Quote - Bobby Darin

Bobby Darin (born Walden Robert Cassotto, May 14, 1936 – December 20, 1973)

The focus of today's MMOB Daily Quote is the well-known American teen idol and singer. With a broad range of musical ability, Mr. Darin had hits in generes including big band, rock and roll, pop, jazz, folk and country. For those of you who experienced the Kevin Spacey film Beyond the Sea you also know he had a history of poor health. Motivated by this, Bobby worked hard as an actor, singer/songwriter and music entrepreneur endeavoring to "be remembered as a human being and as a great performer."

Here's a YouTube clip of Bobby performing his hit Mack the Knife

And now, a few quotes from Mr. Darin to get us all started on this Wednesday morning.

“There is nothing wrong with being afraid---but there is nothing more wrong than allowing that to be your master.”

“My goal is to be remembered as a human being and as a great performer.”

“So let us build them shelves where they might fight among themselves and leave the people be who want to sing”

“Well, ... I wouldn't kill or rob anyone, don't worry, but I'd sure like to earn some money.”

“Thanks. It's been a great one.”

Cheers! - Jason
