Artist Spotlight - Mike Grell

Today, I shine the bright Artist Spotlight on the adventure artist Mike Grell. I first discovered Mike's work in a DC comic called Warlord. It was an amazing blend of modern-day technology in a medieval/prehistoric fantasy world. Fun stuff, unbelievable story-lines and great art!

He reminds me of the great comic strip artists of the early 20th century, with an uncanny ability to blend the human form with realistic rendering of vegitation, grand vistas, technology, and high-intensity action. A comic lovers dream style.

I know he had a memorable run on DC's Green Lantern/Green Arrow and I also enjoyed his work on Jon Sable Freelance and Starslayer (both for short-lived PC Comics) and on some special James Bond 007 comics.

Here's a short clip of Mike telling the story of the "45" so you can get a flavor of the man and his personality.

Which leaves us with the most important part, Mike Grell art. Enjoy!
