Artist Spotlight - Will Eisner

The recent release of The Spirit movie has sparked a renewed interest in today's focus of the Artist Spotlight on Will Eisner.

Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1917, William Erwin Eisner carved out a creative career for himself in comics and illustration that is second to none. And his art is a witty combination of dynamism and humor, elegantly filling each and every page. And his creative use of black and white, with a splash of color, has influenced every major artist in the industry. Not the least of which is Frank Miller, who, while responsible for helping bring The Spirit to the big screen, may not have been entirely faithful to its creator and the characters he birthed.
