The MMOB Daily Quote - Clarence Darrow

Our birthday celebrant and notable American attorney is Clarence Darrow

Here's a little background on Mr. Darrow from
Wikipedia:
Clarence Seward Darrow (April 18, 1857 – March 13, 1938) was an American lawyer and leading member of the American Civil Liberties Union, best known for defending teenage thrill killers Leopold and Loeb in their trial for murdering 14-year-old Bobby Franks (1924) and defending John T. Scopes in the so-called "Monkey" Trial (1925), in which he opposed William Jennings Bryan (statesman, noted orator, and three time presidential candidate for the Democratic Party). Called a "sophisticated country lawyer", he remains notable for his wit and agnosticism that marked him as one of the most famous American lawyers and civil libertarians.

And now, some words of wisdom pulled from
brainyquote.com:

"As long as the world shall last there will be wrongs, and if no man objected and no man rebelled, those wrongs would last forever."

"Depressions may bring people closer to the church but so do funerals."

"Chase after the truth like all hell and you'll free yourself, even though you never touch its coat tails."

"I do not consider it an insult, but rather a compliment to be called an agnostic. I do not pretend to know where many ignorant men are sure - that is all that agnosticism means."

"If you lose the power to laugh, you lose the power to think."

"Justice has nothing to do with what goes on in a courtroom; Justice is what comes out of a courtroom."

Cheers! - Jason
